Rån i Sverige / Robberies in Sweden (in Swedish only)

Life n Stuff... Posted on Jan 12, 2013 17:50:55

http://www.aftonbladet.se/nyheter/article16041970.ab

http://www.aftonbladet.se/senastenytt/ttnyheter/inrikes/article16055874.ab

http://www.aftonbladet.se/senastenytt/ttnyheter/inrikes/article16055916.ab

http://ekuriren.se/nyheter/eskilstuna/1.1661493-matbutik-stangde-efter-vapnat-ran

Mannen var beväpnad med “något pistolliknande föremål”.

Mina reflektioner

So much to do…and so little time…

Life n Stuff... Posted on Oct 09, 2012 00:12:30

*phew*…I have so much to do and so little time.

Studying two courses now and only two weeks left in those courses.

– Concurrent Programming – learning threads, semaphores, monitors, locks, conditions, JR Programming and will now have an exercise in Erlang (functional programming). So now I am trying to learn Erlang enough to be able to do the assignment with my lab partner.

– Software Engineering Project – which is supposed to be about project model/methodologies, but the course include dividing us into groups of five and all groups should make an Android App. Since no one in my group have no experience at all in App development or server configurations, databases and SQL, nor Git, we are really struggling getting anything up at all. Getting worried that we will have anything in place other than a fancy GUI and no functionality.

We have got the server connection working, by only connect with socket to the server and send messages to the server, but we need to get the server working with a Web Server as well. Have installed XAMPP with Apache Web Server, PHPMyAdmin and SQL to be able to set up a database with tables for users and groups being able to add users and groups and then have some authorization and connection to clients (Android phones). Still a h*ll of a lot to do and time is slipping away…

Then besides school, I am also working at CTK (Chalmers TeknologKonsulter / Chalmers Technology Consultants) where I have been mostly spending time on “selling” (building relations with companies) and will now probably start on a project to build a web portal for customers of a client to have a discussion forum. This should be done in Ruby on Rails, so therefore I am starting to learn RoR on the side to be able to work in the project.

Find it hard to get time to spend with friends and family as well as doing stuff for survival (washing etc) and get enough sleep…

Auditions…tears of joy!

Life n Stuff... Posted on Dec 20, 2011 10:49:37

One thing that is very important to me, even though it might not look that way, is music. Even though I can’t sing or play any instrument, I have always enjoyed music and listening to a lot of music whatever I do.

With that said, I have discovered (actually a number of years back) that I really love watching first time auditions in X-Factor especially and before that Idol and Britain’s got Talent.

You might think that I like the ones that are bad performers and can laugh about it. Sure, it can be fun to watch, but the true joy for me is when people that haven’t succeeded earlier enters the stage and have a great voice and takes the audience and jury panel with a storm.

Ofcourse it’s nice to see their development as they progress in the competitions as well, but I almost always like the

I do have my favourites…in non-specific order:
(For all links below, there are often better qualities than default, so check that.)

Janet Devlin (Britain’s X-Factor 2011)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4EE4bIFixQ

Cute 16 year old girl from Ireland which has an voice of an angel. She has that specific way that I have only heard Irish singers do, where she break the tones from a note to another. Don’t know the word for it, but it sounds great! (3:49 and 4:21 in this video are two examples of what I mean.)

In her first audition she performs Your Song by Elton John. She of course went through to the next round and all the way to the final.

Amelia Lily (Britain’s X-Factor 2011)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKIv7SdSFYY

Another 16 year old with a great voice. Performs Janice Joplin’s Piece Of My Heart. Really good voice and reminds me of Joss Stone a bit. Would be great to see Joss Stone and Amilia Lily perform a bunch of Janice Joplin songs…

Jade Richards (Britain’s X-Factor 2011)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dnp6N9jsLo&feature=relmfu

Jade’s first audition was Adele’s Someone Like You and with her great sense and beautiful voice she brings something extra out of this song. Even though I really like Adele’s version of it, there’s something that makes this version so great.

She was put through to the next event, but then I don’t really what happened. For some reason she disappeared from the competition and someone else got her spot. Really beautiful voice and I think she could be an recording artist. As Kelly Rowland concludes her comment…”You have the X-factor, and then some.”

Sami Brooke (Britain’s X-Factor 2011)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECJegEdcja0

Sami is a very funny and chatty girl with a big voice. Here she sings One Moment In Time. Great tones, both low and high. This performance is so powerful and really shows her greatness. Also very funny conversation with the judges before she sings, as well as after.

Melanie Amaro (USA’s X-Factor 2011)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqjroNlL4pI&feature=related

18 year old with one of greatest voices in the world; no doubt! In her first audition (linked) she sings Listen by Beyonce. I must say…this is far better than the original! She should definitely be an recording artist!

I don’t think she went to the final, if I remember correctly, which in my mind is so wrong. Should have at least went through to the final. A singer like that must get a contract.

Cher Lloyd (Britain’s X-Factor 2010) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cher_lloyd)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JglWZ-wC3Vk

Cher is a really cool young girl with her own style, mixing great song with rap. Here in the first audition, she sings Keri Hilson’s version of Soulja Boy’s song Turn My Swag On. I really like her style and most of her other performances in the rest of the competition even though they are quite “teeny” some of them. She reached fourth place in X-Factor 2010 and this year she had a single called “Swagger Jagger” which climbed the lists. I don’t like Swagger Jagger, but I am sure she will have some great songs soon.

Danyl Johnson (Britain’s X-Factor 2009)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=mzj9z8QDTfU

Great voice and really exceptional performance. Can’t be done better as a first audition, as the judges says. Really get everybody on their feet and clap. Amazing!

Jamie Archer (Britain’s X-Factor 2009)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvBHzaZZO5o&feature=relmfu

Jamie is perhaps not the best singer, but he’s a natural performer and entertainer. Really great performance, singing “Sex On Fire” by Kings of Leon, which really turn Simon’s grouchiness to actually singing along. Amazing performance!

There are a lot of other great singers/performers that should be in this list…but I have to go now.

Summer…

Life n Stuff... Posted on Jul 03, 2011 23:41:22

Long time since I wrote here.

Since I wrote, I have had exam in the environment course and sadly I didn’t get enough points on it to pass. Really boring course with too high expectations from the teachers and also bad lectures by the same.

It should be ok with the total points I have got from all the courses so far, to get funding from CSN; i.e. student loan.

I got an assignment as summer work (through my job that I have study leave from), to map processes for how Volvo CE work with Telematics and together with VGT (Volvo Group Telematics), the interfaces between the two. I have been doing that for four weeks now and have three weeks left. So far I have more or less only been interviewing a lot of people to get as much information as I can. Have also been doing some draft material and will start with some of the final documentation tomorrow.

The expectations from the steering committee is that I will not finished with all documentation so we will have a meeting in Gothenburg in the end of August also, to present and hand over the work.

Can also be that I can do some extra work for Volvo since VGT is located only 100 meters from where I study. I need to check how much I can earn before I loose student money and how it works. But it would be nice with some extra work. Of course the studies has to come first.

Finally left the key to my apartment…

Life n Stuff... Posted on Feb 05, 2011 13:22:05

The last couple of weeks I have been in Eskilstuna trying to sell all my furniture (bed, couch, big loudspeakers, tables etc, boxing everything for storage and move to my new dorm room. Last weekend I cleaned all weekend and even in the night. Even though I got some help from my parents, Emil (a friend) and especially from my girlfriend Nerea we were ready the same minute that I was going to hand over the keys. Luckily everything went well and it really feels good not having the apartment anymore with the economic pressure.

My dorm room is full with boxes and bags but I will try to store them in a more efficient way so I get more space in the room. Tricky with a lot of stuff and only 18.5 sq.m’s.

Yesterday Nerea came visiting me and will stay the whole weekend. Very nice.

We will have some brunch now and then take a long walk in Gothenburg/Göteborg. I don’t know what we will do tonight but I hope something fun. No plan yet.

Long time…

Life n Stuff... Posted on Jan 25, 2011 09:09:11

…no see. Last time was December 2 and I have had examinations before Christmas which went well. Passed (Grade 3) in Electrical Circuits and Very Well (Grade 5) in Program Development (C programming).

Christmas was nice, back home with my parents and New Years we had a nice party, 16 people in total. Was really nice.

I am moving out my apartment and I have sold some furnitures but still have some to sell, such as couch and the double bed.

Have taken some days off to pack all the things. Will store some in a storage Staffan (a close friend) is hiring and only a few selected things to go with me to Gothenburg/Göteborg.

So, I have not been studying that much yet this semester, but I will have to study hard as soon as I have handed over the keys to the apartment and is back in Gothenburg. Will then try to use the study journal as it should be used, meaning daily.

Still not feeling well…

Life n Stuff... Posted on Dec 02, 2010 18:23:40

I have been sick all week and was feeling better last night and went out to buy some food. Only a couple of minutes walking to the store I felt woozy and couldn’t even walk straight.

I felt better this morning also, but now my sense of balance is not good again. Feel tired constantly.

No fun reading this one….but I have at least managed to do some programming in C.

Skiing in Sälen and then sick…

Life n Stuff... Posted on Nov 30, 2010 16:28:02

Last weekend I went to Sälen with some friends to ski and have fun. I was picked up by Henrick here in Gothenburg and went to Sälen last Thursday. We arrived late (around 01:15 AM Thursday night) and we only had a beer and talked some with the others before going to bed.

Friday we went to get our ski pass and hire equipment except skies, as it was ski testing weekend. We went downhill three times and then one of the friends called me and asked where I was at and when I told him I was below the hills he asked me to get some snowmobile as another friend, Staffan, had fallen below the ski lift and injured himself.

So I got told a lift guide that my friend had injured himself and needed a snowmobile fast and then Henrick and I went up there as soon as we could. When we arrived there, Staffan laid on his side and already 5 ski patrol guys were trying to fix his back and neck. To make a story short, the fixed everything and put him on a board and then we helped carrying him to the snowmobile and they took him down to the doctor.

The doctor examined him and said that there was no nerve damage anyhow, but probably a number of ribs broken and possible two vertebra (SWE: ryggkotor) cracked.

Staffan then went to Mora hospital to get it x-rayed which confirmed 4 broken ribs, two cracked ribs, two cracked vertebra.

I can’t even imagine the pain.

Staffan is still at Mora Hospital getting drugs for his pain and can’t really move. Perhaps tomorrow or Thursday he will be transported back to Eskilstuna. I really hope he will be better soon.

Apart from Staffans own adventure, we had really fun. The Afterski was really good and we also went to Högfjällshotellet Saturday night and it was a blast!

I went back to Gothenburg with two guys from the other gang and I felt really bad during the 11 hour trip back. I thought I only was hangover from the party Saturday night, but I was probably already sick. I have been sick at home both Monday and Tuesday now and probably will stay in bed tomorrow as well.

Unfortunately I missed a test at school today, but I couldn’t get up since I am both feeling ill and my balance is not good either.
